A Communication Inventory for Individuals with Complex Communication Needs and their Communication Partners

This person-centered planning tool is designed to identify important variables affecting communication and to guide interventions that have an impact on communication skills across settings over time. The Social Networks (SN) Inventory highlights the key role of partners in interactions and supports identification and documentation of an individual’s communication partners. The tool also provides a way to identify the multiple methods of communication an individual may use with different partners and in different environments. SN is not a standardized test. Information is obtained during interviews that are conducted according to specific instructions provided in the SN Manual.
